The Compliance and Optimisation Officer plays a dual role in ensuring that EDFHP adheres to regulatory standards while driving process improvements to enhance operational efficiency. This position requires a detail-oriented professional who can balance compliance requirements with a strategic focus on optimising workflows, systems, and resources —proactively identifying risks, implementing policies, and recommending changes that improve compliance and overall business performance.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Compliance Management

  • Ensure the organisation complies with all applicable regulations, laws, and industry standards.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain compliance policies, procedures, and controls.
  • Conduct regular audits, assessments, and reviews to identify potential compliance risks.
  • Monitor changes in regulations and update policies accordingly.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate compliance and operational risks.
  • Develop risk management strategies and ensure alignment with organisational goals.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for regulatory bodies and external auditors.
  • Train staff on compliance requirements and foster a culture of regulatory awareness.


Process Optimisation

  • Create and analyse business processes, workflows, and systems to identify inefficiencies.
  • Recommend and implement improvements to increase productivity, reduce costs, and enhance quality.
  • Maintain a risk register and oversee the implementation of corrective actions.


Policy Development and Implementation

  • Draft, update, and enforce organisational policies and procedures.
  • Ensure all policies align with best practices, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Communicate policy changes effectively across the organisation.


REQUIREMENTS AND EXPERIENCE

  • 3+ years of experience in compliance, process improvement, risk management, or a related role.
  • Proven experience with regulatory frameworks and optimisation methodologies. Experience in MCS compliance is preferred.
  • Proficiency with compliance and audit management tools.
  • Knowledge of process improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma Green Belt).
  • Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders.

Pay: £28,000.00-£31,686.00 per year

Schedule: Monday to Friday, No weekends

Ability to commute/relocate: Clacton-on-Sea CO15 4TL: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
