EDF boosts heat pump savings with zero standing charge tariff

  • EDF is axing standing charges in new tariff for heat pump customers, in efforts to help more customers transition to low carbon living.
  • Exclusively available to customers that install an Ideal Heating heat pump, the new ‘Heat Pump and Save Tracker’ tariff guarantees daily off-peak discounts, zero standing charges, and no exit fees.
  • Plus, to celebrate the launch of the new tariff, EDF is also giving customers £500 off new air source heat pump installations1, on top of at least £360 in annual savings2

EDF, in partnership with Ideal Heating, is helping more customers save cash and carbon every day, all year round, with a new zero standing charge heat pump tariff.

Exclusively available to customers that install an Ideal Heating air source heat pump through EDF Heat Pumps, the new ‘Heat Pump and Save Tracker’ one-year tariff guarantees customers daily savings which will amount to at least £360 a year, with no standing charge or exit fees to pay.

The one-year tariff provides six hours of discounted zero carbon electricity every day, with no price hikes or penalties, and twice-daily discounts between the hours of 4am-7am and 1pm-4pm. Customers can also pocket extra savings by shifting more of their consumption to the off-peak hours.

And for a limited time, EDF is discounting all air source heat pump installations by £500 for the first 50 customers that sign up1. The tariff is available for customers who pay a deposit before 30th September 2025 and complete their install before 31st December 2025.

The discount will mean a heat pump system starts from £3,180 when applying the Boiler Upgrade Scheme Grant. Finance options are also available to help customers spread the cost. And with EDF’s Recommendation Scheme, heat pump customers can also earn £250 cashback for themselves, and £250 discount for a friend, with every referral.

As part of its commitment to helping customers transition to low-carbon living, EDF Heat Pumps is also promising to only install heat pumps it’s confident will keep your home warm. If it doesn’t perform as promised, customers will receive their money back3

Philippe Commaret, Managing Director of Customers at EDF, said: “Our goal is to support as many homeowners as possible with transitioning to low carbon technologies. Introducing our new tariff with zero standing charges ensures customers can take advantage of daily savings from the moment their heat pump is installed. We’re so confident in our service and product that we’re even offering a Heat Pump Promise, which guarantees customers a warm home or their money back.”

Mark Derbyshire, Managing Director (Sales and Marketing) at Ideal Heating said: “We’re delighted to partner with EDF Heat Pumps for a second time, launching a brand-new offer for our customers that combines our industry-leading heat pump technology with a new zero standing charge tariff. Having a heat pump is effortless to me; I don’t touch it, I don’t hear it, I don’t go anywhere near it, because I don’t have to. It’s really, really easy.”
