Our story
bout CB Heating
Clayton Browne is our Managing Director at EDF Heat Pumps, which used to be called CB Heating. He has more than 30 years of experience in the renewable energy field. Starting CB Heating after training as an apprentice plumber, Clayton now, he leads a successful company with more than 100 employees across the UK.
He is at the forefront of air source heat pump installation and installer training in the UK. and is a regular speaker at industry events such as the Installer Show and the Heat Pump Summit. He is a well-known and highly respected leader in the renewable energy sector.
CB Heating was launched after Clayton saw a future in renewable energy whilst working with thermal solar energy systems. As new technologies developed and emerged on to the market, he was keen to explore and embrace them becoming an early adopter of air source heat pumps (ASHP’s). He installed his first ASHP with an underfloor heating system on a beautiful barn conversion back in the 2000. Since then, the company has installed thousands more across the UK.
In 2024 CB Heating were acquired by EDF, the UK’s largest generator of zero-carbon electricity and rebranded as EDF Heat Pumps. Being part of the EDF team has given Clayton’s team at EDF Heat Pumps the opportunity to install even more ASHP’s and down the UK

EDF Heat Pumps has a large head office building on the Essex coast, also the site of their industry leading HPIN Training Academy, dedicated to training the next generation of heat pump installers.
